W Kelley Lucas Kustom Scatterguns Opener

Old School Coach Guns, Trench and Riot Guns, Unique Customs, and Firearm Rescue.

I have retired from working on firearms and am no longer taking on new clients — Thank you for your years of support.

I have a passion for vintage shotguns — The old, classic workingman's hardware store guns are my favorites — I love the idea that these were affordable guns that spent a lifetime providing protection for families and putting food on the table. It’s important that these venerable old-timers can have a new life.

My primary focus was creating old school, custom, double barrel scatterguns and coach guns from firearms manufactured from the late 1800’s through the 1970’s. I also created trench and riot gun clones, build wild customs, and everything in between.

With my customs, it was important for me to accentuate the character that comes with the age of the firearm — I generally tried to repair instead of replace, especially any wooden pieces. I often leaving repairs visible because they are part of the gun’s history, and they just plain look cool. For instance, I usually didn’t hide wooden pins and I would often bolster a cracked stock repair with brass or sterling silver straps and polished brass hardware — Saving pieces that others consider hopeless is what it’s all about.
